DAY 2 - MUNICH ORIENTATION AND AT LEISURE
Delve into the fascinating mix of old and new as you embark on a morning orientation tour taking you to some of the city's most renowned sites, including the majestic Opera House, Ludwigstrasse, Hofbräuhaus and Marienplatz - its magical Glockenspiel delights visitors throughout the day with its enactment of 16th century tales. Spend the rest of the day at leisure exploring the city's Old Town or consider an Optional Experience to the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site, the first of the Nazi camps established in Germany. This evening, embrace the city's rich beer heritage and consider a memorable night out at a local beer hall.

DAY 3 - MUNICH – NEUSCHWANSTEIN CASTLE – OBERAMMERGAU (2 NIGHTS)
Journey to the fairy-tale Neuschwanstein Castle, built as a retreat for shy King Ludwig II to retire from public life. Meandering through Bavaria, we arrive in Oberammergau, where locals have performed the Passion Play every decade since 1634 to fulfil their vow after the village was spared from the grip of the Black Plague. We dine in our hotel this evening.

DAY 4 - INNSBRUCK EXCURSION
The Tyrol mountains beckon today as you take a scenic drive to Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol. Against a magnificent Alpine backdrop, we spend a leisurely day exploring the city's iconic sights. Admire Emperor Maximilian I's ornate Golden Roof and the Wilten Basilica, take a trip up the funicular for spectacular views, or see the Hofburg Palace. We return to Oberammergau this evening to indulge in true Bavarian hospitality.

A scenic train ride through the Tyrolean Alps with our Local Specialist takes us to the glamorous ski-resort of Seefeld. DAY 5 - OBERAMMERGAU – BERCHTESGADEN – SALZBURG (2 NIGHTS)

In Berchtesgaden National Park drive past farmhouses and picturesque villages as we ascend the Obersalzberg. We transfer to special buses for the second leg of the journey: a spectacular road and great engineering feat blasted out of the mountain side. Finally we take an elevator up to the Eagle's Nest, intended as a mountain retreat for Hitler and his inner circle. Once at the top learn its fascinating history and take in the awe inspiring views of the surrounding mountain peaks whilst enjoying a local refreshment! The rest of the day is at leisure delving into the city's Mozart history or see the Domplatz dominated by the Salzburg Cathedral.
