Small actions spark big change — join our volunteer tour and be the difference
What a joyful and impactful World Clean-up Day we had at Pot Bay Beach and Fort Direction on 20 September 2024! A big shoutout to Kate, the Environment and Sustainability Manager from the Department of Defence, who guided us through the day and shared this coastline's environmental importance and rich cultural history. We discovered a lot of storm-washed rubbish and countless microplastics - always a stark reminder of the need to rethink our plastic use! ♻️
A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers who made this event possible! They’re already excited for the next volunteer tour, possibly coming up in late November or early December as part of UTAS intern Hayato’s sustainable tourism project. Stay tuned for more details! ❤️
Our TWAC friends' support means everything to us. Organising these clean-ups comes with unavoidable costs like transport and waste disposal, so any donations help us continue our volunteer tours and are always appreciated. Let’s keep making Tassie a better place for all creatures to thrive! 🌍
Yours in travel,
Jane & TWAC team
