Meaningful weekend in Boronong

It doesn't take any experience or skills to become a Bush care volunteer - just passion, commitment, good physical activity and a sense of fun!

Bonorong is a wildlife sanctuary run by a passionate team of like-minded people who are committed to being able to solve problems in the surrounding environment and in the community. A visit to Bonorong is an opportunity to get closer than ever to something wild and fragile. We will come face-to-face with animals that went extinct long ago in the rest of Australia - the very animals we are working to protect now.

We enjoyed a sunny day, did meaningful volunteer activities, played with kangaroos and visited Richmond for the delicious ice cream.

Thank you very much for joining our last tour to Bonorong and Richmond. Your positive feedback made our day and we would love to see you again in our next tours!

If anyone is interested in our travel & volunteer tours, and are you looking for a meaningful weekend activity to support the Tasmanian community and want to get out and about, enjoy the sea breeze and the crisp air. If the answer is yes, this tour and volunteer tour on June 19 is definitely for you.

We will meet at the City office at 10:00am and after a short presentation we will leave to Pot Bay at South Arm at 10:20am and arrive at the beach at 11:05am. As always, when participating in this eco-friendly event, you will be part of the beach cleanup and garbage collection team. You'll help clean up plastic bottles, cans, and non-recyclable plastic bags from the beach, using your imagination and creativity to turn them into one-of-a-kind works of art.

The day includes round-trip transportation, BBQ lunch, drinks and snacks, and great photo opportunities. You will also receive your personalized volunteer certificate, signed by our CEO, in recognition of your generous efforts.

You will get:

  • Personalized Volunteer Certificate

  • Best Volunteer Certificate (another certificate and gift for the most dedicated and distinguished volunteers) and your photo on TWAC's Wall of Fame

  • BBQ lunch, snacks and drinks

  • Group transportation departs from Hobart CBD to Pot Bay at South Arm and back to Hobart CBD

  • Morning meeting and presentations on work health and safety

We will close the registration once the spots are filled up. Please visit our website to sign up if you're interested via this link: https://www.twac.com.au/twacvolunteer
