Day 1:
Arrive Hobart Airport, pick up mid-size automatic rental car. Includes unlimited kilometres, insurance, fees and taxes. Drive into Hobart. If Saturday, the Salamanca Market will be in full swing. Afternoon drive up Mount Wellington for views over all of southern Tasmania.

Day 2:
Catch a ferry to MONA (Museum of New and Old Art). The Museum is truly spectacular. Stay for lunch among the vines at the adjacent Moorilla Estate.
Take the ferry back to Brooke Street Pier at Salamanca Place.

Day 3:
Drive onto the Tasman Peninsula and Port Arthur. The sea cliffs at Eaglehawk Neck are truly amazing. Visit Port Arthur Historic Site for the real story of Australia’s convict past.

Day 4:
Travel along Tasmania's sunny east-coast to the Freycinet Peninsula. Stop at the many attractions underway and make this journey at your own pace. Explore Friendly Beaches and Freycinet National Park.

Day 5:
Take the cruise to Wineglass Bay during the morning. Spend the afternoon walking up the the Wineglass Bay lookout for great views out over Wineglass Bay and the Tasman Sea. Drop in and sample the oysters at the Freycinet Marine Farm.

Day 6:
Travel from the Freycinet Peninsula via St. Mary's inland and follow the Heritage highway through to Launceston. Continue your way to the UNESCO World Heritage area of Cradle Mountain. At night, join an informative night feeding tour at a local Tasmanian Devil’s sanctuary.

Day 7:
Morning walks at Cradle Mountain, before heading west to the coastal town of Strahan. Stop at Henty Dunes to experience the sand and the Ocean Beach. This is the west coast at its best.

Day 8:
Enjoy the Gordon River Wilderness Cruise. Includes lunch.

Day 9:
Drive to Hobart through the forests and stop at Queenstown to experience an 1800’s mining town. Continue on to Derwent Bridge (stop at the Derwent Bridge for lunch), see the Wall in the Wilderness and then follow the Derwent Valley into Hobart. Stop off at Mt. Field National Park for a walk in the rainforest out to Russell Falls. Please note, departure flight is not recommended before 5pm.
