Day 1:
Arrive with Spirit of Tasmania Ferry. Drive to Launceston City and visit Cataract Gorge and the downtown area.

Day 2:
Take in the west of the Tamar Valley with its boutique wineries, beautiful scenery and the Platypus House at Beauty Point. Cut through from Exeter to Deloraine and then to Elizabeth Town to visit the Ashgrove Cheese outlet. Drive onto the Alpine Plateau of Cradle Mountain. At night, join an informative night feeding tour at a local Tasmanian Devil’s sanctuary

Day 3:
Morning walks at Cradle Mountain, before heading west to the coastal town of Strahan. Stop at Henty Dunes to experience the sand and the Ocean Beach. This is the west coast at its best.

Day 4:
Join the Gordon River Cruise and get way out into the wilderness. Spend the afternoon walking on the beach or taking one of the many forest walking trails.

Day 5:
The west coast was built on timber cutting and mining. Drive to Hobart through the forests and stop at Queenstown to experience an 1800’s mining town. Continue on to Derwent Bridge (stop at the Derwent Bridge for lunch), see the Wall in the Wilderness and then follow the Derwent Valley into Hobart. Stop off at Mt. Field National Park for a walk in the rainforest
out to Russell Falls.

Day 6:
If it is a Saturday the Salamanca Market will be taking place. During the afternoon, drive to the top of Mt Wellington for spectacular views over all of southern Tasmania.

Day 7:
Spend the morning at the Historic Village of Richmond. Continue up the east coast via Buckland (stop and look at the historic Church) and Orford To Freycinet. Stop off at Spiky Bridge for some history, Kates Berry Farm for the produce and Freycinet Vineyard for nibbles and wine tasting.

Day 8:
Take the cruise to Wineglass Bay during the morning. Spend the afternoon climbing the path to the lookout for great views over Wineglass Bay and the Tasman Sea. Drop in and sample the oysters at the Freycinet Marine Farm.

Day 9:
Drive north up the east coast about 3 hours to catch the Spirit of Tasmania ferry.
