Day 1 Welcome to Darwin
Welcome to Darwin! This afternoon enjoy a tour of the tropical city to see a mixture of old and new building styles including the old Government House and the new Northern Territory Parliament building. You'll also visit East Point Military Reserve and the Darwin Museum before you join Travel Director and fellow travellers at the colourful Mindil Beach Sunset Markets where you'll experience the spectacular over-water sunset under the coconut palms. There's plenty of time to explore the art and crafts, aromas and atmosphere of the marketplace. You may like to try some succulent fresh BBQ seafood, authentic Indian or Chinese cuisine, or even Greek or Japanese. You'll see why the market attracts food lovers from all around, the choice is endless!

Day 2 Darwin – Katherine
Today you’ll depart Darwin and travel to Litchfield National Park, famous for its waterfalls. Your first stop is an amazing stand of Termite Mounds, architectural feats complete with tunnels and nursery chambers. You'll then continue to view the beautiful waterhole at Florence Falls from a high vantage point before venturing on further to tropical Wangi Falls for a relaxing swim in the large crystal-clear pool surrounded by spectacular monsoon rainforest. Later, you’ll journey to Katherine.

Day 3 Katherine Gorge
This morning, sit back and relax in tranquil surroundings on a Katherine Gorge Cruise. Discover the history and culture of the Jawoyn people, traditional owners of Nitmiluk as you explore two gorges with a backdrop of stunning rock faces around every bend. This afternoon you will learn about indigenous bush tucker, traditional bush medicines and learn about didgeridoo custom when you join a local Aboriginal guide. There is the opportunity to purchase some locally painted indigenous art.

Day 4 Katherine – Kakadu
This morning stop at Edith Falls with the opportunity for a swim. You’ll then pass through the gold mining town of Pine Creek, with buildings dating back to the heady gold rush days. We recommend trying a delicious mango smoothie while you're there! Travel deep into the World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park. The focal points of Kakadu are the spectacular escarpment, water holes and abundant wildlife. After lunch we take the well-known Yellow Water Billabong Cruise to spot crocodiles and birds. Your local guide will share with you all the secrets of these ancient waterways before taking a guided walk to view ancient Aboriginal artwork at Nourlangie. Just magic.

Day 5 Kakadu National Park
This morning, you’ll visit Ubirr and view Aboriginal rock art dating back some 20,000 years. Take the short climb to lookout from the top of this rocky outcrop for superb views over the flood plains and escarpment country. This afternoon there is the opportunity for an Optional Experience scenic flight over Kakadu which is something you will remember forever. This evening, celebrate your Top End Highlights holiday at a Farewell Dinner with your Travel Director and new-found friends.

Day 6 Farewell from Darwin
This morning you’ll leave Kakadu behind and journey back to Darwin. Keep an eye on those river crossings to see if you can spot saltwater crocodiles. The final stop before arriving back in Darwin is Fogg Dam, a bird watchers paradise. Bid farewell to your fellow travellers as your holiday comes to an end when you arrive in Darwin.

Fitness Requirements
- • Kakadu – Nadab Lookout - Medium Level of Fitness Required
The climb to the top of Nadab Lookout at Ubirr in Kakadu National Park will not be suitable for all guests. To get to the lookout guests are required to scale up uneven rocky paths and steps to get to the lookout. There is an alternate route on a fairly flat gravel path for those unable climb to the top so they will not miss out on Rock Art.
