  • Day 1: Sydney - Dubbo

    Departing Sydney towards the township of Bathurst, Australia’s oldest inland town. Stop for a coffee and wander up the main street before continuing to Orange, a great destination for lunch. We arrive at the gorgeous Rowlee Wines, one of Orange’s premier Wine labels. This Single Vineyard Estate, uses the cool climate and high altitude to produce memorable wines. We are met by our host for a Vine to Paddock Experience. Explore the estate and learn about the journey from vineyard to glass, enjoying unique wine tastings followed by a relaxing lunch. Continue to Dubbo arriving late afternoon at your hotel. Dubbo Hotel (TBA).

    Day 2: Dubbo - White Cliffs

    Continue west passing through Naromine and Nyngan towards Cobar where we stop for lunch. Afterwards we pass through the town of Wilcannia before continuing onto White Cliffs. White Cliffs is well known for the first place in Australia where opal was discovered, by accident in 1872. Since then, opal has been mined continuously. Many locals live underground using their mining equipment to build their homes. Tonight, you will stay at the famous White Cliffs Underground Motel, built into the side of an escarpment and keeping a perfect all year round temperature of 21 degrees.     Day 3: White Cliffs - Broken Hill

    Enjoy breakfast this morning before meeting your guide for a tour of White Cliffs. We visit the Red Earth Opal Mine and take a tour 25 meters underground to see firsthand how opals are mined. Learn all about their fascinating shapes and different colours. Continue our tour of White Cliffs afterwards admiring the unique outback landscape

    Enjoy lunch at a local café before reboarding the vehicle and heading west towards Broken Hill. Enjoy the views of the vast outback as we travel along the Barrier Highway to the last frontier, Broken Hill, arriving late afternoon. Time to check in and relax before dinner at the resort this evening. Outback Resort Broken Hill.

    Day 4: Broken Hill Discovery (BLD)

    Discover Broken Hill with its history of mining, desert landscapes, vibrant arts and galleries. Visit Silverton and enjoy the Sculpture Symposium and Living Desert Area, a collection of beautiful sandstone sculptures. Outback Resort Broken Hill.

    Day 5: Mutawintji National Park (BLD)

    Enjoy a tour to discover Mutawintji National Park. Visit some of the most significant indigenous rock art at one of the country’s most sacred Aboriginal sites. Tour includes Interpretive walks to the Mutawintji Aboriginal rock engravings & hand stencil sites, audio-visual presentation telling the traditional dreamtime story of Mutawintji & a picnic lunch.     Day 6: Menindee & Kinchega N.P. (BL)

    Explore the Menindee region, a tiny outback settlement famous for two things: the last place where the Burke and Wills expedition stayed and the Menindee Lakes, an inland wonderland and a vital source of water for orchards & farms. The lakes are full of dead trees, surrounded by sand, saltbush & red soils. Within Kinchega National Park we visit the historic woolshed & the Darling flood plain around the Menindee Lakes system to discover the differing environs.     Day 7: Medinee - Mungo N.P (BLD)

    Continue to Mungo National Park via Garnpung Lake. The World Heritage listing of Mungo National Park indicates its importance to the outback region with plenty to see along the way including kangaroos, emus, birdlife & red dirt roads. Arrive at Mungo Lodge for lunch and check in. In the afternoon, head off on an amazing Mungo Walls of China Sunset Tour with your guide. Return to the lodge. Lake Mungo Lodge

    Day 8: Medinee - Mungo N.P (BLD) Today we go on a sightseeing tour into the World Heritage Mungo National Park including Zanci homestead, Mungo Woolshed and Mungo Visitors Centre. Learn about the fascinating indigenous and pastoral history of this area. After a picnic lunch at Red Top Lookout, go on a Self Guided Tour of “The Loop” a 50 km circuit around the outside of the Walls of China stopping at Mallee Walk. Visit Vigar’s Well, a natural water hole where Cobb & Co would stop to rest and water the horses travelling between Qld & SA. Dinner this evening at the lodge. Lake Mungo Lodge

    Day 9: Balranald - Narrandera (BL)

    Travel to the heritage town of Balranald located on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River. Explore Yanga National Park, Yanga Woolshed then relax with a picnic lunch. Stop at Hay for the Australian Shearers Hall of Fame then arrive in Narrandera. Bishops Lodge

    Days 10-11: Wagga Wagga (BL) Today we visit the Glendale Citrus & Hazelnut Orchard before arriving in Wagga Wagga. During your stay, enjoy the food & wine scene, wonderful galleries and fascinating history. Visit the award-winning Coolamon Cheese Factory, Wine Tasting at a Boutique Winery and the town of Junee including the Liquorice & Chocolate Factory. Enjoy a farewell dinner.     Day 12: Wagga Wagga to Sydney (BL)

    After breakfast, our morning drive takes us through picturesque country as we make our way to the Southern Highlands. Enjoy a wine tasting and lunch at a local Southern Highlands Winery and time to explore Berrima, a well preserved Georgian village in Australia before departing back to Sydney
