Top shelf, defines Tasmania’s whisky, gin and wine and a Tasmanian Air Tours will give you the opportunity to sample some of Tasmania’s best. As you will be flown to each destination you can relax and enjoy a morning of stunning Tasmanian scenery, tastes and tales.

Locations include Shene Estate & Distillery in the Southern Midlands or McHenry Distillery on the Tasman Peninsula. The choice is yours.

The Kernke family of Shene Estate & Distillery produce Poltergeist Gin and Tasmania’s only triple distilled whisky – Mackey Tasmanian Single Malt Whisky. The family hosts will take you on a tour of the historic property and you will see how they have reignited and put into bottles the spirit of their colonial estate. You’ll also taste the spirits too. 

McHenry Distillery makes gin, whisky and vodka which are literally born from the ground below your feet. Water used as the base to create William McHenry’s spirits is sourced from a natural spring on his property. This spring water paired with the natural environment, local botanicals and the McHenry’s family desire to produce the best spirits, make drinks which are to be savoured and enjoyed.

Once your tour is completed Tasmanian Air Tours will fly you to Frogmore Creek Restaurant and Cellar Door in the Coal Valley Wine Region, Cambridge, for lunch inspired by local seasonal produce accompanied with their cool climate wines.

Tasmanian Air Tours will provide a complementary transfer to your hotel in Hobart.

Tasman Island scenic
Tasmania’s Tasman Peninsula has the most rugged coastline in the Southern Hemisphere with sea cliffs towering to a height of 1000 feet above the Tasman Sea. In this sea, surrounded by the swell of the Southern Ocean is Tasman Island. Tasmanian Air Tours will take you there to see this unforgettable site and further by flying you over haunting Port Arthur historic site and Eaglehawk Neck.

Bruny Island scenic
From Barilla Bay you will fly over the City of Hobart and along the River Derwent to the D'Entrecasteaux Channel. From there, Tasmanian Air Tours will fly you over North Bruny Island towards the island’s isthmus and onto South Bruny Island. Returning to base via the east coast of Bruny Island you will see dolerite cliffs and fly over Iron Pot Lighthouse. Finally your homeward journey will take you over the southern beaches of Hobart before landing at Barilla Bay.

Enjoy a remote Tasmanian beach all to yourselves, a treat for the taste buds and your mind. A perfect option for an extra special occasion or just because.

Starting your adventure at Barilla Bay Oysters, Tasmanian Air Tours will fly along Tasmania’s south east coast providing views of Hobart’s southern beaches and Storm Bay out towards the Southern Ocean before heading to Bangor Vineyard Shed.

On landing you will taste a flight of Bangor boutique wines while your pilot and host gathers fresh produce for your picnic hamper.

Once your hamper is stocked you will be flown over Bangor farm to a private and secluded location – Two Mile Beach.

The sea air is as crisp and clean as the wine and oysters you will enjoy. Your picnic hamper will be filled with seasonal Tasmanian delights to energize you before beach-combing to see what sea treasures you can find. Weather permitting, you can swim in the ocean. The only inhabitants you will share Two Mile Beach with are the local wallabies, wombats, birds, dolphins and possibly a passing whale.

Duration: 2 hours (approximately 40 minutes helicopter time, tasting and picnic 1 hour 20 minutes)  

We cater for all dietary requirements so please tell us at the time of booking what your needs are. The bush and beach terrain is uneven so please wear appropriate footwear and bring a jacket in case the sea breeze picks up. Respect the animals and remember where you are is their home. Please don’t get too close and don’t feed them. Human food will make them ill.
