On this 7 day faith based journey through Switzerland, Germany and Austria, you will visit some of Central Europe's most important shrines, cathedrals, holy places, and historic sites. You'll overnight in Zurich, Oberammergau, Altotting and Vienna. Some of the highlights include visits to the Benedictine Abbey of Einsielden, the Baroque Monastery and Chapel home to the Black Madonna, the once in a decade Passion Play performance in Oberammergau, Altotting the spiritual focal point of Bavaria for more than 1,250 years and a visit to its Panorama Museum, Melk Benedictine Abbey and mass in the solemn Cathedral of St. Stephen in Vienna.
In Oberammergau enjoy the once-in-a-decade Passion Play performance. The play is from 2:30 pm to 10:30 pm and includes a 3-hour intermission for dinner. The play portrays the Passion of Christ—from his entry into Jerusalem to the Resurrection. The play usually consists of 2,000 actors, singers, musicians, and technicians—all of which are residents of Oberammergau. Please note, the play is conducted in German with booklets provided in other languages.
