Maria Island is rich in indigenous and European history, abundant in wildlife and boasts spectacular views and stunning natural features. It’s little wonder the whole island has been declared a National Park, come experience magical Maria Island!
Located a short drive from Hobart on Tasmania’s east coast, we travel through one of Australia’s best preserved colonial towns Richmond on our way to Triabunna, before boarding the ferry to Maria Island. After a short introductory tour from one of the Park’s rangers, there will be free time to explore at your own pace and enjoy your packed lunch. You may be lucky enough to come across the local wildlife, which includes forester kangaroos, wombats, Tasmanian devils, Cape Barron geese, rare birds and pademelons.
