Day 1 Fly to Manila, Philipphines
Your tour begins when your flight arrives at Manila Airport. Cultural Welcome and dinner
Day 2 Masungi Georeserve and Enchanted Farm
An incredible wildlife encounter awaits you as we visit the Masungi Georeserve, a conservation area and rustic rock garden located 2-3 hours from Manila. A finalist in the United Nations World Tourism Award, we hit Young Explorers Discovery Trail (Under 13) or Discovery Trail (13 years and up) through a trail lined with stone steps, a cave, a limestone peak and bamboo groves to learn the history of the Masungi.
Note: Masungi Georeserve is a stunning trek. Minimum age is 10 years old to 13 on the Young Explorers Discovery Trail. 13+ and Adults on Discovery Trail. For parents and children under 10 we will replace the Masungi experience with Bakasyunan Resort with beautiful infinity pool and potentially nearby Daranak Falls.
Day 3 Intro to Bayani Challenge Volunteering*
Gawad Kalinga (GK) is an incredible organisation working in 3000 communities with a goal to lift 5 million Filipinos out of poverty by 2024. “Bayani” means Hero in the Filipino language Tagalog.
The challenge involves volunteering in local barangays via school painting, mangrove planting and feeding programs. Morning is a split group activity of "Kusinang Kalinga" - preparation of food and serving in barangays, schools and Heroes Home Build project.
Afternoon activities we split into riverbank clean up and “Palarong Pinoy” play games with village children.
*Actual volunteering depends on needs of GK Village.
Day 4 Dynamic Praise, Spanish Quarter and Slum Feeding
We take a jeepney to MZCF to experience dynamic praise and worship service.
After lunch, we head to Intramuros, the Spanish walled city to understand Jose Rizal’s struggle to liberate his people from 333 years of Spanish rule.
Late Afternoon visit to Zone 3 to participate in MZCF slum feeding and see the infectious smiles of the locals.
Day 5 to 6 Bayani Challenge Volunteering Continued
We complete our Bayani Challenge with a celebration"Boodle Fight" dinner to say goodbye to our GK hosts. And watch out for an Amazing Race around the village with an added twist!
Day 7 Journey to Seaside town of Mabini
We take the beautiful scenic route to the seaside town of Mabini. On the way we stop at the People’s Park where our very own Trips+ guide “Imelda Marcos” will describe her pain at the never finished presidential mansion.
We also visit Fantasy World, an abandoned medieval theme park tagged as "Disney World of the Philippines."
A short climb for the outrageous views of Mt Gulugod completes our journey before we cool down with a refreshing swim.
Day 8 Stunning Anilao Snorkelling Day Trip
Anilao has over 40 dive sites and is the most popular scuba diving destination in the country. Ideal for snorkelling, you can already see a multitude of creatures such as feather stars,damsel fish, sea cucumbers, angelfish, sea squirts and the ever-popular clownfish. A little deeper and you can find giant clams and moray eels. If you're lucky you might even run into a sea turtle.
Note: Day 8 Anilao Snorkelling Parents with young children may opt to stay at our resort and swim in ocean.
Day 9 Morning Chill and Caleruega Church
The morning is free for you to chill and reflect on the journey so far. We will take it easy today and stop in at Caleruega Church- A beautiful sanctuary and garden to reflect.
Back to Manila for a relaxed night.
Day 10 Shopping and Flight Home
Experience the chaos of Divisoria Flea Market and 168 Shopping Mall. Located in Binondo, the oldest Chinatown in the world outside of China. Grab a bargain as you will find everything under the sun for sale! Robinsons Mall is nearby too for more conventional shopping.
Afternoon, we head to the airport full of beautiful memories to share in the years to come.
