- Day 1 Fly to Manila, PhilippinesYour tour begins when your flight arrives at Manila Airport.Cultural Welcome and Dinner.Day 2 Intramuros visitWe head to Intramuros, the Spanish walled city to understand Jose Rizal’s struggle to liberate his people from 333 years of Spanish rule. A kalesa ride and a visit to one of Manila’s most beautiful churches awaits you. For dinner we will introduce you to Filipino cuisine by visiting the famous Barbara's restaurant.*Medical Voluntours 2018*Jeepney*Medical Voluntours 2018 R&R*Taal VolcanoDay 3 Travel to BarasWe join the Global Aid Network medical team and travel to Baras for a full briefing.
Day 4 to 7 Free Medical Clinics
The I Love Baras Medical Voluntour team provides free medical clinics to people who simply cannot afford medical help. It is very rewarding to see the joy and smiles on the local's faces. We end our "I Love Baras" project with a celebration dinner.Day 8 GK Cavite Village and Amazing RaceA relaxing "sleep in" to thank you for blessing the Baras locals with your skills and knowledge. We travel to Cavite where we will be staying at Gawad Kalinga (GK) Village.GK is impacting 3000 communities with an incredible goal to uplift 5 million Filipino's out of poverty by 2024. A village concert welcome is one you will never forget. By staying in a traditional GK house, you will gainan understanding of how blessed we are in the West. GK has a unique way to build peaceful communities. They invite locals from slum areas to give 1600 hrs of manual labour in exchange for a house. We put a twiston the Amazing Race theme and are you up for the challenge?Day 9 Travel to TagatayTagatay is a popular holiday town that sits on the ridge above Taal Volcano Island. The beautiful Taal Lake completes the magic of the area. We will stop at the People’s Park where our very own Trips+ guide “Imelda Marcos” will describe her pain at the never finished presidential mansion. View the spectacular views of Taal Volcano from Picnic Grove. Afternoon is free to laze around the pool or shop. For dinner we go to Sonia's famous organic restaurant.Day 10 Trek Taal VolcanoIn the afternoon will take a short boat ride over to the majestic Taal Volcano. We will take a 1 hour guided trek (not too strenuous) and enjoy views from the Main Crater Lake rim and Vulcan Point, The tiny island at the centre. Your friends will be wowed when you show them your pics from Red Lava.
